BARNETT THEATRE
Part of the Barnett legacy in Sullivant Hall includes the display of the 1953 Tony awarded to Isabel Bigley Barnett for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. Ms. Bigley performed on and off Broadway in shows such as the 1950 London production of Oklahoma! and as a chorus girl in the 1953 production of Me and Juliette.
She also appeared frequently on early television variety shows such as The Ed Sullivan Show. After marrying music executive Lawrence Barnett in 1958, she retired from performance to devote herself to her family. The Barnett’s strongly supported arts education and provided significant funding in support of the 2013 renovation of Sullivant Hall.
